When I got my MBA, I decided to go to a top school so I would never feel like I missed out on some arcane or occult knowledge of success in business that only passed among the illuminati, cognoscenti and elites. It turns out that there isn’t such knowledge passed in secret ceremonies and venerated on stone tablets. It’s all common sense for the most part; and some math. Here is the basic premise:

· You create something that people need

· You let them know about it

· You make it for less than you sell it for

That is pretty much it. Now go forth and prosper!

Understand and don’t get me wrong, my MBA program was one of the best things I ever did: for my career, opportunities, self esteem and sense of accomplishment. But it’s not the only way and you don’t need to wait. Waiting means opportunity costs. If you are working or want to get involved in a start up, or start one up yourself, Do It Now.

Ready, Fire, Aim

Don’t wait to start actualizing your ideas. Take action, see what happens, and course-correct as you go along. Use MBA ASAP resources to help you steer the course. MBA ASAP will help you get it right the first time. Never underestimate the value of getting it right the first time.

Get these basic skills in your repertoire and start using them today. And seriously, remember the gist of those three bullet points. Make sure all your business efforts meet those criteria.
